The strong history of Andritz production in Foshan, China |
|
The Andritz Group, with its headquarters in Graz, Austria, is a multibillion-euro-group dedicated to supplying equipment and services to a wide range of processing industries worldwide.
The Andritz production in China started more than 12 years ago with a joint-venture company in Foshan, Guangdong.
In 2002 Andritz Technologies, Foshan, Guangdong, was established as a company 100% owned by Andritz, engaged in manufacturing and selling high-quality products in support of multiple Andritz divisions.
Since then the company has grown dramatically in China, with three production sites in the Guangdong province alone and close to 600 employees today. Andritz Technologies provides state-of-the-art production of competitive, high-quality products and services for all Andritz Group divisions on the Chinese and Asian markets.
It is within this dynamic production environment that Andritz Sprout in 2006 established production facilities to comply with the Asian needs in the feed and biofuel business of Andritz Sprout by means of equipment made in China according to its global designs and quality standards and matching local market needs.
Today a select range of Andritz Sprout products, such as extruders, conditioners, pellet mills and controls are produced in China.
Based on the successful initial establishment in China, Andritz Sprout is in process of establishing additional new workshops in Foshan, China, in order to provide the growing Asian market with an increased range of quality feed and biofuel products as well as the corresponding service support and know-how.
The machine program will be increased by a series of additional products from the Andritz Sprout global range of products to supplement both pelleting and extrusion lines. The products will be designed to meet the requirements of the Asian market.
The Andritz Sprout activities in China are managed by Mr. Richard Hickey, who after gaining 15 years of experience in the Asian market, is now heading the Andritz Sprout expansion plans for Chinese manufacturing and the enforced market coverage for the region. In support of the enforced sales and marketing in Asia, Andritz Sprout has additionally engaged Mr. Bjarne Them Jeppesen, who will support customers, agents and the Andritz Sprout regional sales and service offices in the Asian countries in cooperation with Richard Hickey.
Further to its facilities in Foshan, Guangdong province, Andritz Sprout is operating from its office in Shanghai, China headed by Mr. Xu Zheng.

International technology Group Andritz successfully finalized the upgrade of the board machine BM1 at Kartonsan Karton, Izmit, Turkey.
The drying section of BM1 was rebuilt and successfully started up in August 2008.
The board machine produces WLC (White Lined Chipboard), with a grade range between 300 and 450g/m², and a working width of 2,200 mm.
The Andritz scope of supply comprised a new canopy hood with supply and exhaust air system, optimized blow boxes for pocket ventilation, and a heat recovery system, with the aim of reducing the energy consumption of the board machine. ’We are very satisfied with the results of this upgrade and the high quality of the equipment delivered.
After the successful upgrade by Andritz, the steam consumption of BM1 could be reduced by 10% as planned,’ says Mr. Haluk Iber, Ass. General Manager at Kartonsan.

Successful start-up of the first Andritz PrimeRun web stabilizers at Austrian Sappi Gratkorn mill |
International technology Group Andritz successfully started up newly developed Andritz web stabilizing systems at Sappi Austria Produktions-GmbH & Co. KG, a leading supplier of woodfree coated fine papers in Gratkorn, Austria.
The Andritz scope of supply comprised the newly developed web stabilizers PrimeRun HV and PrimeRun D as well as PrimeVAC vacuum rolls, which were installed in the single-tier drying section of the two paper machines, replacing existing components.
Andritz met the rather tight delivery schedule of only six months for PM9 and eight months for PM11, and completed the upgrades within the very narrow timeframes of four and three days respectively.
The agreed targets, such as increase of production speed, stable tail threading, and faster widening were quickly achieved.
This has resulted in a further increase in efficiency for both paper machines. A decisive factor for placing the order with Andritz was the joint development of an innovative concept that enabled the customer to achieve all of the set targets.
